Your chair plants a tree
Our products are ecolabelled, which means a few things: the wood is sourced from sustainable forests that aren’t cut down faster than they can regenerate, the local wildlife is considered and taken care of and the forest workers’ conditions are assured. Our products are also designed and manufactured with a full lifecycle in mind. To extend the life of our products, worn-down parts can be exchanged and components can be disposed of in the best possible way.
In addition to these commitments, we also make sure to pay-it-forward by planting an extra tree for every piece of furniture that we sell. We collaborate with the non-profit organisation, One Tree Planted, to manage and organize this initiative on our behalf.
Ethiopia first tree planting project in 2019
For the first project in 2019, we are supporting the Ethiopia tree planting project. This project links environmental restoration with income generation, providing the local community with the knowledge and tools to conserve their land, protect their water supply, and create a sustainable, diverse economy for future generations.
Environmental degradation is threatening
The project focuses on the Loka Bedelcha Kebele in Southern Ethiopia, and the Amhara region in the North. Both are areas where environmental degradation is threatening livelihoods and biodiversity. These regions face challenges like dry and unpredictable climates, poor soil fertility, ineffective land management practices, and lenient resource regulations.
