For Vienna-based photographer and content creator Melanie Lichtenshopf, home is a reflection of the people who live in it – a space that evolves naturally over time, shaped by personal objects, natural textures, and thoughtful design. Drawn to the balance between simplicity and character, she shares her perspective on creating a warm, lived-in home – and why the Curve Coat Rack found its place in her hallway.
What makes a home, to you?
“For me, a home is a reflection of the people living in it. It’s not about everything being perfectly styled, but about creating a space that feels personal, warm and lived-in. I love when a home evolves naturally over time, with pieces that have a story, objects collected along the way and little details that make it feel like your own.”
How does furniture shape the way you live?
“I think furniture quietly shapes our everyday routines. The pieces we surround ourselves with influence how we move through a space, how we use it and ultimately how we feel in it.
I‘m drawn to furniture that balances function with a strong visual identity- pieces that make everyday life easier while adding character to a room.”
What has influenced your personal style?
“My personal style is influenced by many different things – architecture, art, fashion, travel and the places I discover along the way. I love the contrast between old and new, clean lines and natural textures, simplicity and character. I’m not particularly interested in following one specific interior style. I prefer mixing pieces intuitively and creating a space that feels layered, balanced and personal.”
How did you know TAKT was the right fit for your space?
“I was immediately drawn to TAKT’s thoughtful approach to design. I appreciate pieces that feel simple and understated but still have a distinct character. The natural materials, clean lines and attention to detail fit naturally into our home. I also love the idea of investing in well-made pieces that are designed to stay with you for a long time, rather than following short-lived trends.”
What made you decide to bring Curve Coat Rack into your home?
“Our hallway is the first thing you see when entering our home, so I wanted it to feel just as considered as the rest of the space. The Curve Coat Rack felt like the perfect balance between something practical and something beautiful. I love its simple wooden design and the way it blends into our home without disappearing completely. The little shelf is one of my favourite details – a place for keys and everyday essentials. It brings a sense of order to the space while still allowing it to feel warm and lived-in.”
