At TAKT, we believe in sharing both progress and responsibility. Since our first B Corp certification in 2020, we’ve worked hard to raise our standards — and we want to bring you along as we continue.
We’ve never been interested in vague promises. That’s why we use B Corp as a tool to keep ourselves accountable and moving forward. After being recertified in 2024, we’ve raised our B Corp Impact Score from 100.8 to 118.1 — one of the highest scores in the furniture industry. The average score of companies outside B Corp is 50.9, and 80 is needed for B Corp certification. With 118.1, TAKT is now the highest-ranking B Corp furniture company in Scandinavia.
Being a B Corp means that we are part of a global movement of businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance. It signifies that we measure success not just by profits, but by our positive impact on the world around us. We are proud to balance purpose and profit, ensuring that our decisions benefit our customers, employees, suppliers, community, and the environment.
Raising the Bar
Since our launch in 2019, we set out to embed long-term responsibility into the core of our business. Early on, we focused on certifying our first three designs — Cross Chair, Soft Stool, and Tool Chair — with the EU Ecolabel, the official European mark recognizing high standards in material sourcing, production, repairability, and recyclability. All three designs successfully achieved certification.
We were among the first in the industry to pursue this level of recognition and remain the only company in the furniture category with an entire catalogue certified under the EU Ecolabel. This was just the beginning.
Who is behind B Corp
The B Corp certification is accredited by B Lab, a non-profit organization located in Pennsylvania, New York and Amsterdam, and operates across the world in a wide variety of countries. B Lab’s vision is to transform the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. B Lab evaluates and verifies company impact on employees, customers, suppliers, the environment and the society. TAKT has gone through an elaborate verification of our entire business impact which was evaluated from B Lab analysts in Amsterdam and Pennsylvania.
International community
B Corp is the only certification that holistically evaluates a company’s full social and environmental performance. It is a growing international community of more than 3,500 certified B Corps. Examples of fellow B Corps include Patagonia, Allbirds and Ben & Jerry’s – and from Denmark companies like Aarstiderne, Coffee Collective, Too Good to Go, Rudolph Care, and Tekla.
