TAKT and B Corp
TAKT first achieved B Corp certification in 2020 with a B Impact Assessment score of 100.8. In 2024, we achieved an overall score of 118.1, under B Lab’s previous certification standard. At the time, the median score for ordinary businesses completing the assessment was 50.9.
B Lab has since introduced new standards for B Corp certification. As the framework evolves, so do we. TAKT is now preparing for the next certification process, planned for 2027.
In 2026, TAKT signed B Lab’s amendment relating to the transition to the new standards. TAKT has not yet been recertified under the new B Corp standards.
We see the B Corp framework as a way to measure where we are, understand where there is room to improve, and keep raising the bar over time.

Raising the Bar
Since launching TAKT in 2019, we have looked to independent standards and certifications to document specific aspects of how our furniture is made.
Our first three designs – Cross Chair, Soft Stool and Tool Chair – achieved the EU Ecolabel, the official European environmental label. Since then, we have continued working with product certification as our collection has grown.
For us, the work doesn’t stop with reaching a standard. It is an ongoing process of documenting our products, revisiting the choices we make and looking for where we can improve.
Who is behind B Corp
B Corp is a certification programme developed by B Lab, a non-profit organisation working internationally. Through its standards and assessment process, B Lab looks at different areas of a company’s operations, including governance, workers, community, customers and the environment.
For TAKT, the B Impact Assessment has provided a framework for looking across our business and measuring our progress over time. It has helped us identify areas where we can improve and challenge ourselves to raise the bar beyond individual products or initiatives.
As B Lab continues to develop its standards, the framework evolves with it. For TAKT, this means revisiting how we measure our impact and preparing for the next certification process under the new standards.
International community
B Corp brings together companies from different industries and countries around the world, creating a global community of businesses working to measure and improve their social and environmental impact.
The international community includes companies such as Patagonia, Allbirds and Ben & Jerry’s – and from Denmark companies like Aarstiderne, Coffee Collective, Too Good to Go, Rudolph Care, and Tekla.
For TAKT, being part of this community since 2020 has been another way to challenge our own approach, learn from others and keep developing how we work.
