How the crisis impacts our prices

Due to unprecedented instability of our supply chain, we need to flexibly change our prices from time to time. We would much prefer a different situation, but let me explain the background …

When we were all gradually moving out of Corona restrictions, we were all exposed to the realities of rising inflation and the continuing challenges with global supply chains. Even though TAKT produces regionally in Europe, we have seen knock-on effects on our European supply of wood and other basic materials for our furniture. Prices on natural materials have risen gradually over the last year.

Then came the tragedy of the war in Ukraine. While insignificant compared to the horrors of the war, the turbulence has made supply chains even more unpredictable. Now energy prices and transportation can be added to the volatility of raw material prices. It all adds up to higher production costs and very little visibility on what the future will bring.

While our direct approach without middlemen allows us to deliver quality design furniture below normal market prices, the increased production costs and uncertainty have forced us to re-assess our pricing.

Hopefully these regrettable and uncertain times will soon see its end, and the situation will stabilize. Until then, we need to continuously adjust our prices to reflect the situation. Of course, once you put in an order your price is locked in and secured. We continue to offer free shipping and free return when you buy from TAKT.

We hope for your understanding,
