A little while back, we asked product photographer and interior stylist Mimi Peeters about her sense of home and how the Plint fits into her space. Here are her thoughts…

How does home feel to you?

“It feels like my playground. It’s a place where I create. It’s the most comfortable and safe place. It’s also the most inspiring because this is where my family lives and where my kids are growing up.”

What role does furniture play in this overall feel?

“As a person who works from home, I need to be surrounded by pieces that inspire me to create. Furniture plays a big role in my work. It has to be versatile and offer many options for styling.”

How would you describe your personal interior style?

“I would call my style “authentic.” I tried several times to move towards a particular style, but it just doesn’t work for me. My style definitely tells my story. I love to combine old and new furniture, mixing it with vintage abstract art, books, and flea market finds.”

What has shaped it? Inspirations, etc.?

“I think most of it is shaped by childhood. I’ve been into art since my very early childhood. My dad did photography as his hobby, and my mom loved interior design. This mix of my love for art and the hobbies of my parents helped me shape a vision for my personal interior style. I often take inspiration from vintage interior magazines, art, books, and architecture.”

How did you know TAKT was the right fit for your space? (values/practical/aesthetics) What made you decide to bring Plint into your home?

“When I’m considering new furniture for my home, I always try to look to the future and ask myself: Will it last? Will I still like it? Will it get better with time? Could it become a new design classic? I believe TAKT’s design is timeless. It will look just as good in a few decades and even improve with time. In my opinion, TAKT has the perfect balance between design and functionality. And what is very important: it’s responsibly made, with a very transparent view on sustainability. This resonates with my vision.”
