For Ronja Rupalla, interior designer at Studio Eight and founder of housenumbereight, home is less about statement and more about feeling. Guided by a search for visual calm, honest materials, and spaces that support everyday rituals, she shares her thoughts on living with design — and why the Bow Chair found its place in her home.

What makes a home, to you?

“For me, a home is defined by how it makes you feel. It should create a sense of calm, safety, and ease – a place where you can truly exhale. Visual quiet, natural materials, and thoughtful details are essential to making a space feel grounding and lived-in, rather than just designed.”

How does furniture shape the way you live?

“Furniture shapes daily rituals and how we move through a space. Well-designed pieces support everyday life without demanding attention, they quietly influence how comfortable, focused, or relaxed we feel. For me, furniture should be functional, timeless, and emotionally grounding. I also form strong emotional connections to certain pieces :-), and they bring me joy simply by being used or by being part of my home.”

What has influenced your personal style?

“My style is deeply influences by Scandinavian (Danish) design, spending a lot of time in nature, yoga and sports, and a strong desire for visual calm. Growing up with a creative mindset, traveling extensively, and working closely with architecture have all shaped my preference for minimal, honest, and material-driven interiors.”

How did you know TAKT was the right fit for your space?

“TAKT felt like a natural fit because it aligns with my core values: sustainability, longevity, and thoughtful design. I appreciate the brand’s focus on honest materials, timeless and clean aesthetics, and practical functionality, pieces that are made to last and evolve with a space rather than follow trends.”

What made you decide to bring Bow Chair into your home?

“The Bow Chair stood out because of its sculptural yet understated presence. It feels calm and intentional, while still adding character to the room. I loved how it balances strong design with warmth and practicality – a piece that doesn’t overpower the space, but quietly elevates it.”
